Life after.

I was sitting in a circle with a few people from my Ultimate team, stretching. Max offhandedly mentioned that PADA Summer League is in Philadelphia Magazine's top 10 list of places to meet people. And suddenly it hit me.

Life after I graduate actually might not suck.

Seriously. I mean, I've definitely had the thought, confirmed by several friends as not solely my own, that college might be the last good time to find the person you'll eventually marry, so better get on it already. I don't entirely believe it, but really, when will you again be surrounded by so many people your age? When else can you just go eat dinner by yourself, knowing you'll be sitting with some group of 4 or 8 people you're friends with by the end of the meal?

But I'm doing this Ultimate league. I'm having a great time. And it just occured to me that I'm one of the several youngest people on my team. I just found out that I got accepted to this program I applied for that I was really looking forward to, though I was nearly rejected because I was at the very young end of the age range. And though I'm still afraid of the impending search for a real job, I'm almost starting to look forward to it.

So there's actually stuff I want to do. I'll be able to keep busy. My life might never turn out quite as interesting as the She Hates My Futon guy, but that's okay. I think I'll make it after all.

And if I don't, you know I'll just spend all my time hanging around Penn with my friends who haven't graduated yet.
