I haven't updated you on my life in awhile, have I, LiveJournal? Well, here we go, then.

Went to the mall on Black Friday, as you may have gathered. I've gone every year for at least the past 10 or so. But I've never gone so early before. I've always had the day off before, so I'd just go whenever I woke up, around noon or so. I was rarely hoping to get some of the so-called "doorbusters", I just go to do some light shopping and watch the crazy crowds. But this year I had to work, and I couldn't break my tradition. So I was at the King of Prussia Mall from about 6:15 until 8:15 on Friday morning.

I bought a mattress pad and a $1.50 bulb for my car's tail light. But they sold me the wrong bulb, so I returned it. Neither was on sale.

Friday night I had Shabbat dinner over at jox's place, since I currently don't have a kitchen. It's being renovated. I have a refrigerator and a toaster oven, but no stove or oven or even microwave. (It's quite frustrating.) So there's a lot of eating out, and that includes Shabbat dinners. I wonder what I'll do this weekend.

Saturday night, I went to the TMBG concert! I ran into d_m and his cousin, and then Kevin and Zoe, and then shawn_smiles and her sister, before meeting up with flyinbutrs and thornmallow as planned. Shawn in particular was quite surprising to see, as all weekend before that I kept thinking I saw her out of the corner of my eye walking around in the city; kept having a hunch I was going to run into her. So strange. And the concert itself was one of the best of the 11 I've seen so far.

Afterwards, even though the concert ended around 12:15, I managed to make it out to the suburbs to spend a little quality time with the few folks from the Akiba '02 crowd that were in town. Best part of my Thanksgiving routine, every year.

Work is going well. It's very much our busy season right now. A typical day for me these days is 8:45-6:15, and I'm not getting nearly enough done in that time. I'm going to have to start staying later or coming in on Sundays or something. When I get home, all I do is watch TV and eat takeout for an hour or two and then go to bed. I tend not to want to be in front of a computer anymore after those workdays. But I do love my job, and in some ways it's even more enjoyable when I have this much to do.

I kind of want to become a notary. Being an election judge was fun, but I want more power!

Today starts Jimmy V week on ESPN. You've all seen The Speech, right? The one Jim Valvano gave at the 1993 ESPY awards when he was dying of cancer? The greatest speech of my lifetime? You haven't? Well, here you go.

If you don't like how the audio is out of sync, just watch it on ESPN at 7 tonight.

Back to work!

How often do you read Desh's posts?

All the time
Only when I see a poll to fill out
Never (and I'm a smartass)
