NLDS links and thoughts

A couple of links I've had open:

Mets' collapse statistically the second-worst of all time. (Scroll down to the bottom.)

Bill Lyon, my favorite sports columnist ever, poked his head out of retirement, as he occasionally does, to say a few words about the Phils' September.

I have to at least say something about the amazing game last night. Or link to David Schoenfeld, who talks a bit about an improbable game.

And I know I'm biased, but it really does seem to me that a preponderance of talking heads on espn.com and si.com are picking the Phils over the Rockies, and Rollins over Holliday for MVP.

So the Phils announced their postseason roster today. Collapse )

OK, I'm ready. The two hottest teams in baseball are about to play, led by the two best players in the NL. And I'm pumped. Bring on the Rockies.

Oh, and one more thing, the MLB quote of the year for 2007: "We pray for his buttocks and his family."
